Gene: What do you want to do today? Take the kids to the park?

Angela: No. I want you to clean the kitchen floor and send the kid’s outside to play.

Gene: What are you going to do?

Angela: Well….first I’m going to read in bed for a bit. Maybe later I’ll make my way to the couch to finish this book.

Gene: That’s it?

Angela: Yep.

So, here I am…..2:30 on a Sunday afternoon that I have wasted on the couch reading a book in a quite house. It’s good to be the Queen.

I think EVERY Sunday should be Mother’s Day.

Nashville is a beautiful city. Gene and I were just down there last October and I had a great time. I loved that it’s a big city with lot’s of historical stuff and just on the heels of the Smoky Mountains.  I’ve been bugging him to take me back.

The best part of visiting a city, to me, is what they have to offer historically. I like to see things and Nashville is full of history. There’s Andrew Jackson’ s place, Civil war battlefields and not to mention, loads of country music history.  Although I wouldn’t say that I’m a country music fan…..don’t get me wrong there are some artists that I really like…. I still had to visit Ryman Auditorium. I’m such a history buff that I almost don’t want to hear what historical pieces that have been lost at Opry Land, country music fan or not.

 There are many famous musicians who are coming out about how they’ve lost everything. Luckily, they’re able to replace their lost posessions, unlike most of the flood victims.

This would be country singer, Kenny Chesney. Not only is your tractor sexy Kenny, you’re  really WEARING those mossy oak hip waders….. Sorry lost my train of thought. Now, I would say that I AM a fan of  Kenny’s.  His house is completely under water. GREAT! Now where am I going to stay during my next visit to  the Music City?

In the coming weeks I hope that someone has a benefit for them just like we do for other countrys. Right now, I don’t hear much about the flooding from the media. News about the oil spill and the attempted Times Square bombing seem to be the headliners. It would really piss me off if they don’t do something like they did for Haiti. I don’t understand how we can send so much money to other countrys as aid, but US disasters don’t seem quite as important. Somethin’s not right about that…..on any level.

A couple of months ago I realized that this site was listed as public info on my Facebook page. Meaning that Gene’s ex could have looked me up there and found my webpage. So, for the last few months I’ve been a little leery about writing on here. Heaven forbid, that she mind her own damn buisness and worry about her own boyfriend instead of mine, but whatever. In fact, I almost hope that  not only has  she been on here, but shared the site with her loser boyfriend, I would have written a post about her asking Gene to take her back. For the record…..the begging was pretty pathetic, we had a good laugh over that.

And hey….Mr. Loser Man….that’s not even close to scratching the surface of what you don’t know here. Call me!!!

 But recently, I’ve come to the point of  ‘Screw you’. I don’t care if she has. Granted, I would have preferred that she didn’t, but that’s my own stupid fault for not being more careful about my Facebook page. Lesson learned.  All I can do, from this point on, is not worry about it. 

And I won’t.

So, I’m saying……you can go screw yourself Big Red because Gene won’t ever again. I know for a fact that he would rather chew off his own dinger before he headed down that road again.

Look for more adventures from me. I have a feeling it’s about to get really interesting around here.

Hockey Mom

A mother was making a breakfast of fried eggs for her 5^th grade son,

Suddenly the boy bursts into the kitchen and yells “Careful! CAREFUL!!!

Put in some more butter! OH MY GOODNESS!! You’re cooking too many at once.

TOO MANY! Turn them. TURN THEM NOW!”
 
“We need more butter. OH MY GOD! Where are we going to get more butter.

They’re going TO STICK! Careful…CAREFUL! I said be careful!.”
 
“You never listen to me when you’re cooking. NEVER! Turn them! NOW NOW NOW. HURRY UP!”.
 
“Are you CRAZY? Have YOU LOST your MIND? Don’t forget to salt them. SALT THEM! NOW NOW NOW, SALT THEM NOW!!”
“You always salt them TOO LATE! Use the salt. USE THE SALT I SAID!”
 
The mother starred at him for some time and finally asked “What in the hell is wrong with you?

You think I don’t know how to fry a couple of eggs?”
 
The son calmly replied “I just wanted to show you what it feels like when I’m trying to play hockey……”

CRASH THE NET!!!!!

It holds the over flow from heavy rains and sewers. Yes, that’s right……it holds shit. There are times, like right now, when it’s dry because there hasn’t been much rain here as of late, but other times it can get pretty high.

One day Gene and I were driving by and we saw this guy parked next to  a ramp that runs along side of it. This caught our attention because it’s illegal to go down there. It’s also dangerous because you don’t know when it’s going to start filling up. Anyhoo…..we noticed that this guy also had a kayak sticking out of the back of his SUV. At the same time we both said, ‘Oh, hell no…..he isn’t going down there!’

We were wrong….he did. I told Gene to turn the car around so I could take pictures of him. I immediately heard him grumbling something about my ‘damn blog’. 

The funny thing about this is that the guy saw me taking pictures of him and looked at me like I was stupid. He’s floating down a man-made canal filled with the shit from thousands of households and I’m the stupid one?

Don’t think so pal!!!

Let’s think about the reality of this for a moment…..he’s floating along with turds in this kayak, then he’s going to put his hands on the kayak to put it back into his fairly new SUV…..hope he’s at least smart enough to ride with the windows down. That could be a long, stinky ride home!!! LOL

There is this woman that I see around the neighborhood  and she’s always wearing a pirate hat. I’m not kidding, it’s a black three point hat with a skull and cross bones on it and it seems as though she made it herself. At first, I thought she was wearing it for halloween but she wears it all the time. Halloween was a month ago. She even has a do-rag tied to her head with the long frizzy black hair.

So…..I’ve made it my mission to get a picture of her and post it on here. I couldn’t the last two times I’ve seen her because I had the baby with me and couldn’t take of running if she saw me and started to go all bat shit crazy.

First thoughts…..looks like a nice city BUT……the people here drive like their hair is on fire. I mean,  we were going 75 and people were passing us like it was nobody’s buisness. It’s at least as bad as Chicago and those people are just plain stupid behind the wheel. I guess I was expecting people in the south to be a tad more chilled out.

Tomorrow we will be venturing out a bit more. Maybe we’ll go by the Opry and get the baby a little Minnie Pearl hat.

There’s just one thing that worries me.

Nashville, as we all know, is the Country Music capital of the world. I’m afraid I just don’t get country music. In fact, it pretty much grates on my last nerve. It’s not just the music, it’s the whole ‘country’ thing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in no way knocking people who are from the south or live that way of life. I’m just saying I’m a city girl and a city girl I will stay.

Basically, I guess I’m setting up the next few posts because I’m sure I’m gonna see some things that I won’t get or completely freak me out.
