Here in St. Louis we have something called the River Des Pere. It’s a man-made canal that runs through part of the city and empties into the Mississippi…..I still have to sing that little song when I write that….M-I-crooked letter-crooked letter-I.
It holds the over flow from heavy rains and sewers. Yes, that’s right……it holds shit. There are times, like right now, when it’s dry because there hasn’t been much rain here as of late, but other times it can get pretty high.
One day Gene and I were driving by and we saw this guy parked next to a ramp that runs along side of it. This caught our attention because it’s illegal to go down there. It’s also dangerous because you don’t know when it’s going to start filling up. Anyhoo…..we noticed that this guy also had a kayak sticking out of the back of his SUV. At the same time we both said, ‘Oh, hell no…..he isn’t going down there!’
We were wrong….he did. I told Gene to turn the car around so I could take pictures of him. I immediately heard him grumbling something about my ‘damn blog’.

The funny thing about this is that the guy saw me taking pictures of him and looked at me like I was stupid. He’s floating down a man-made canal filled with the shit from thousands of households and I’m the stupid one?
Don’t think so pal!!!
Let’s think about the reality of this for a moment…..he’s floating along with turds in this kayak, then he’s going to put his hands on the kayak to put it back into his fairly new SUV…..hope he’s at least smart enough to ride with the windows down. That could be a long, stinky ride home!!! LOL

There is this woman that I see around the neighborhood and she’s always wearing a pirate hat. I’m not kidding, it’s a black three point hat with a skull and cross bones on it and it seems as though she made it herself. At first, I thought she was wearing it for halloween but she wears it all the time. Halloween was a month ago. She even has a do-rag tied to her head with the long frizzy black hair.
So…..I’ve made it my mission to get a picture of her and post it on here. I couldn’t the last two times I’ve seen her because I had the baby with me and couldn’t take of running if she saw me and started to go all bat shit crazy.
Arrrrr, Matey!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish me luck!!!!

For those of you who are not baseball fans, this is Sammy Sosa….a really creepy version of him. Apparently, he’s going through some sort of skin abrasion treatment.

Is it just me or does he look like the Puerto Rican version of Eddie Munster?

We rolled into Nashville at about 3pm and went straight to the ice rink since AC’s game started at 4:15. After that it was right to the hotel, so all I’ve seen of Nashville so far has been in passing.
First thoughts…..looks like a nice city BUT……the people here drive like their hair is on fire. I mean, we were going 75 and people were passing us like it was nobody’s buisness. It’s at least as bad as Chicago and those people are just plain stupid behind the wheel. I guess I was expecting people in the south to be a tad more chilled out.
Tomorrow we will be venturing out a bit more. Maybe we’ll go by the Opry and get the baby a little Minnie Pearl hat.
HHHHOOOOWWWDDDDYYYY!!!!!!

Ok….AC has a hockey tournament in Nashville and we leave tomorrow morning. I’m excited to be blowing this pop stand for a couple of days. Even more so because I’ve never been to Nashville.
There’s just one thing that worries me.
Nashville, as we all know, is the Country Music capital of the world. I’m afraid I just don’t get country music. In fact, it pretty much grates on my last nerve. It’s not just the music, it’s the whole ‘country’ thing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in no way knocking people who are from the south or live that way of life. I’m just saying I’m a city girl and a city girl I will stay.
Basically, I guess I’m setting up the next few posts because I’m sure I’m gonna see some things that I won’t get or completely freak me out.
We will see. Should be interesting.
